The River Rock Masonry Heater

“We are sooooooo happy with our stove, the way it regulates the temperature in the room all night and even the next day. So far we have only had to build one fire at night, we do get quite a bit of solar gain during the day from an attached greenhouse, the two work well together and completely heat the house…. This year we just hang out in the center of the house with the stove as it is so cozy, warm and beautiful.“

We love how this heater demonstrates what’s possible when a flexible design system is brought to life by creative minds and skillful hands. Claire & Tony contacted us to design and supply components for a custom heater for the new home they were building. They wanted it to include a bake oven, heated benches, and the ability to heat hot water.

We followed up with course-by-course drawings and shipped all of the specialty hardware and cast components they needed to execute the design. Our design system allows for a lot of flexibility in facing materials and we were completely impressed when they sent us photos of their project complete to see what creativity had been applied!
