“Welcome to the 21st century–what was old is new again! We wanted an environmental fireplace for our home after learning that traditional fireplaces actually consumes your home’s oxygen and heat. Investing in a masonry heater has been one of the best decisions we ever made. A warming system used in ancient Europe, has become a modern necessity. The heat stays in the house, not up the chimney. One small bundle of dry wood keeps us warm for up to three days! And the comfort is like a warm glove on a frosty day. We also love the fact that we can enjoy the crackling fire without the soot and imperfections of a traditional fireplace. We’ve had our stone masonry heater for 26 years and have loved every snuggly minute!”

Milennia of human experience come together in this efficient heating system which keeps you toasty and warm in the winter time!
Masonry heaters use a renewable local fuel source and burn that wood cleanly. They store the heat in the mass which then radiates for 12-36 hours after the fire has gone out, giving an even and thorough warmth to their surroundings.

This Masonry Heater was built by Jerry Frisch of Everett, WA in 1999. You can see him constructing the core of the unit in these photos. Jerry has dedicated much of his life to the technology of masonry heaters and has taught many current masonry heater builders. He is a founding member of the Masonry Heater Association (MHA).
