I recently bought a 5-run masonry heater kit (as well as a bunch of hardware) from Firespeaking and I was super impressed with the whole process. Max was really helpful in answering questions and guiding my vision on the front end and when all the parts and pieces arrived, it was very carefully packaged – everything perfectly intact – which is no small feat considering it had to traverse about 3000 miles to my home in Vermont. All of the documentation and drawings were very thorough and easy to visualize, even for someone who has never built a masonry heater before – I’m just a DIY homeowner type. I had plenty of questions along the way and I never had to wait long for an answer even though they were busy with a bunch of other projects at the time. The five run design is really flexible which was important to me because I built some unconventional details into my heater. The heater has been gently warming my home for about a month now and I’m hopeful that this heater is the first of many!
