Shop Cabin Stove Process Photos

These photos document the build process of the Shop Cabin Stove.  This is a project in continuous development. The best way to receive updates is to join our mailing list. This documentation is provided on an open-source basis.

You can derive a lot from knowing that the bricks lay out to a modular 4″ x 8″ x 2 3/4″ layout, the fire brick are 4 1/2″ x 9″ x 2 1/4″, and the firebrick splits are 4 1/2″ x 9″ x 1 1/4″. We now have a full inventory of masonry heater hardware available. The next iteration of the Cabin Stove will be simpler to build and designed around this readily available hardware.  As stated, the very best way to stay involved with this project is to join our mailing list.

This is a cleanout door which services both horizontal passages. It is not an air-intake.
The firebox is built with IFBs (Insulated Fire Brick) and lined with splits. It is holding up well although I think we will simplify this to using standard firebrick for the next iteration.
I custom built an air-frame for the door and then welded all the metal parts together so they acted as one structural unit.
