Deposit For Barrel Oven Hardware
Put down a deposit on the metal working components necessary to build your own barrel oven. Includes the barrel, an insulated door with custom hinges and two oven racks. The "kit" option includes a firebox door, ash grate and ash drawer which doubles as an air register. We proudly make all these parts from raw steel stock in our workshop. The Barrel Oven Kit that we produce is a synthesis of about 10 years of collaborative effort by metal-smiths and natural builders to refine a basic set of metal components that allows you to build a barrel oven simply and to use it productively and with ease over many years. The photos included show all the parts included in a whole “kit”. You also have the option to only purchase the “barrel” We are very proud to make these components as part of our home/farm economy.

We have scheduled a limited production run of 4 kits for March, 2012 for ovens being built during the spring and summer of 2012.
A deposit made now guarantees shipment by: April 15th, 2012. (last updated Dec. 16, 2011). Your deposit guarantees your place in our production schedule and allows us to buy the raw materials necessary for your order. The balance on the order plus any shipping and handling will be invoiced to you upon completion of the order. The order will then be shipped once we have received full payment. The deposit is 25% of the total cost. If, for any reason, you would like to cancel your order after the deposit has been made, we will refund you 50% of the deposit.
Shipping costs: You can pick up your finished kit in our shop located in Deadwood, OR; we can coordinate delivery to Eugene and Portland areas; or we can package your order in a crate and ship it via UPS Freight, with whom we have an account that gives us deep discounts. There is a $50 handling fee for materials and labor necessary to package your order in a crate and deliver it to the shipping dock. Shipping costs across the United States and Canada can vary between $100-$250. Please inquire about shipping costs to your location, including the address you would like the barrel oven kit shipped to.
The barrels we use are the thickest gauge available. They are kiln-burned and sandblasted to eliminate any paint residue so we begin our work with raw steel which offers a hygienic cooking chamber and a safe and healthy experience for both builder and baker.
We paint the exposed parts in order to prevent rust and ensure durability over time. There is a large selection of colors of high temperature stove paint that we can use to finish the hardware with.
